About Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT)

Liquid Penetrant testing is a non-destructive test (NDT) used to identify flaws in materials that may not be seen by the human eye in normal everyday conditions. ASTM E1417 and E1417M standards are followed to provide accurate and consistent test results.

Testing Process

Liquid Penetrant testing is a three-part process of applying a Magnaflux Brand fluorescent dye, developer and viewing by black light. Certified Level II technicians interpret results and provide accurate results. LPT can be used on many materials such as Aluminum and Steel.
