Paint Performance Testing is designated to test paint adhesion, paint hardness test, coating thickness test and coating resistance to chemicals test on a finished sample. All testing is conducted to specific ASTM standards or other industrial known guidelines.
Testing Process
There is a wide variety of paint performance testing available to confirm product performance to industry standards or a customized preference. These tests include:
- Pencil Hardness Test - Confirms various hardness of coatings.
- Cross Hatch Adhesion Test - Multiple scratches applied to the surface and results are determined by the degree of coating lifting off the surface.
- X Cut Adhesion Test - X cut is a single crossing cut and results are determined by the degree of coating lifting off the surface.
- Solvent Resistance Test - Various chemicals determined by specific standard guidelines.
